WIP and Yarn Along 6/26/13

Hi Everyone!

One of my favorite parts of WIP and Yarn Along is that it means we're halfway through the week! I don't know about you all but I'm ready for the weekend! and next week is a short week and it's my birthday so I can't wait!

Onto what I'm working on....

I have a stack of squares from the Scrappy CAL that I finished weaving in the ends.

I have a stack of hexagons for my hexagon blanket.  I decided to go skein by skein so that's why most of them are white.

I also have my bubblegum chevron that hasn't had too much progress.

And lastly I started a textured circle blanket based on Rachele from BabyLoveBrand's interpretation of Priscilla Hewitt's Circle of Friend's square.

There hasn't been any reading this week other than my anatomy textbook so I'll spare the picture of that.

Head on over to Tami's and Ginny's to see what everyone else is working on!

WIP and Yarn Along 6/19/13

Today is WIP and Yarn Along.  Joining up with Tami and Ginny today so head on over to check out what other people are working on and reading!

It's been a couple of "difficult" weeks for crafting for me.  I was all over the place in what I was working on.  Then I hurt my wrist.  I am finally somewhat back.   My wrist still bothers me a bit but it's much better than it was.  It helps that I narrowed down what I am working on and I'm really only working on it during the weekend.  I did a couple stitches on lunch yesterday to see if I was ready to crochet again every day and so far so good!

So I am working on the bubble gum chevron and I've actually made a little bit of progress.  Last week I was in the middle of the second pink stripe.  I finished that and I'm almost done with white and heading back to pink again.  Not too shabby for crocheting with a sore wrist.  I am also still working on hexagons for my BabyloveBrand hexagon blanket.  This is going to be a longer project I think as I just make a hexagon here and there.  As for reading I just started Something Borrowed by Emily Griffin.  A movie was made based upon the book starring Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin.  Typical romantic comedy.  I think I liked the movie better so far.  I feel like the book is dragging on a little more in each scene.  The book is on my Kindle so I don't have a picture of it right now.

As you can see there have been some more changes to the blog.  I finally found a design I liked.  I was looking for a blog design for the new blog that will just be FO related.  The Etsy shop that I found the layout in will be featured as a shop of the week in the future because she does some awesome work.  That's all I have for today!  Have a great day.

Etsy Shop of the Week

Hi Everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend.  I'm back with another shop of the week.  This week I'm cheating a little bit.  This is a shop that I found on Instagram and she lists a couple items on Etsy but most of her items are listed on her website: Expression Fiber Arts.  Chandi dyes yarn and comes up with some amazing colors.  And she's from the North Pole which is pretty cool in my opinion.  She has a variety of yarn weights from DK to Bulky.  She dyes silk, wool and roving.  To top it off, a percentage of her sales are donated to a good cause.  So without further delay here are some of her color combinations.

Have a great day everyone!

WIP and Yarn Along 6/5/13

Hi Everyone!

Happy June!  I cannot believe how fast time is going! We are now 6 months away from December.  Which is crazy since the weather by me has been so up and down. We barely had a spring it just jumped straight to summer and then this past weekend I felt like we were in fall.

You know the drill....joining up with Tami and Ginny so head on over and check out what others are working on.

I mentioned in last week's post that I had startitis.  Well we have moved beyond startitis to I don't even know what to call it. I cannot stay focused on one project!  On the plus side there will be some frogging.  I have come to terms with the fact that my blue, green and white blanket just is not meant to be.  I don't like working on it at all.  I still have the same bubblegum chevron that hasn't been touched.  I haven't done any beaded crochet because the beads that I spent FOREVER threading are too small and I can't make them cooperate.  I started three more projects! I started the hexagon blanket (well I did one hexagon and picked out the colors I am going to use) and a knitted baby blanket with this super soft acrylic baby yarn.  I love this stuff even if I had to rip it out once already because I was using too large of needles and they were creating holes in the blanket.  My last project that I started over the weekend was cutting tulle to make a little girls tutu.  I am still reading the same book by James Patterson.  I'm having a little bit of a hard time getting into it but my mom, who already read it, says that it's really good so I'm going to stick it out.

Have a great day everyone!
